P&P book sales benefit St. Philips School

February 11, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 pm

Cleveland Park neighbor Susie Taylor writes:

This Saturday, February 11th, the fantastic Politics & Prose is hosting its annual book fair benefitting St. Philip’s Child Development Center in Anacostia. All you have to do is pop into the store, buy wonderful books for your Valentine, MENTION St. Philip’s when you check out, and P&P will donate 20% of your purchase to the Center. It doesn’t cost you a thing and means so much to the Center!

Unlike many schools in Ward 3, St. Philip’s doesn’t have a parent base that can support the book fair. We utterly depend on you for a successful benefit.

The Center provides amazing early childhood development education for very young children of Anacostia. Upwards of 70 infants, toddlers and preschoolers are enrolled in our nationally accredited infant/toddler and pre-k programs. The Center is one of the few nurturing, safe, dependable infant care programs in Anacostia. Children graduate from St. Philip’s happy, healthy and ready for kindergarten. St. Philip’s serves the entire family by offering guidance in parenting skills, nutrition, child development and appropriate responsive behavior.

Please come to P&P, buy a book for your Valentine, and help our little ones. I’ll be at P&P all day and hope to see you!
