Tour Peirce Mill and learn about “Washington County” in the 1800s

Local historian, author and blogger John DeFerrari will be leading two tours on Saturday, August 8th at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Join this 30-minute tour to hear about Isaac Peirce and his family, the milling industry along Rock Creek, and what life was like for the farmers who lived out in this part of the District in the 19th century, when it was known as Washington County. The tour will include an overview and demonstration of how the mill produced flour from corn and wheat.
