A year ago, after the 2016 election, we encouraged you to be a force for change, and suggested that your own neighborhood was a good place to start.
We at Forest Hills Connection still see community education and involvement as our primary mission. Involved citizens are a foundation of democracy. We also have come to appreciate even more the important role journalism plays in our democracy. One way we can support that role, we believe, is through supporting young journalists as they build their careers.
Kat Saltzman, an American University graduate who has written for the Current, is joining Forest Hills Connection as a reporter. We will pay her a stipend. And we are counting on your tax-deductible donation to make that possible.
