We at Forest Hills Connection believe in shopping locally. So it was a real pleasure to give local artisans a place to sell their wares at the Forest Hills Holiday Bazaar on December 3rd.
Karen Lithell and Dzenita Saracevic organized the event, now in its second year. Lithell opened up her home on Albemarle Street and Marina Burmistrova graciously offered cups of spiced wine and cookies to the visitors and vendors.
About 150 visitors showed up to shop. They generously bought paintings, jewelry, crafts, hand-designed bags, lotions and scrubs, sweets, hand knitted hats and scarves, and items at the silent auction. A portion of the proceeds support Forest Hills Connection.
We didn’t get a photo of Pico Vela‘s booth and gorgeous knitwear, but here’s a peek:
You’ll find some of these vendors at the Van Ness Main Street’s Made-in-DC Pop Up Holiday Market this weekend. They’ll be setting up shop at 4250 Connecticut Avenue, between Acacia Bistro and the interim Cleveland Park Library. View the schedule and complete vendor list.
