Last year I enjoyed watching a duck couple hatch and raise their brood at the restored Broad Branch and Linnean streams. We were even treated to our own version of “Make Way For Ducklings” as the proud parents repeatedly marched their young across Linnean Avenue, back and forth between the two streams.
Well, the ducks are back – and this time there are three mating pairs. We can look forward to seeing plenty of ducklings this spring.
Please keep your eyes out for them and any other new life you find at our new stream areas. We’ll be happy to share any of your photos and videos here on Forest Hills Connection!
Also, the exit pipe where water flows from Linnean stream into the Broad Branch has gotten a face lift. And the rest of the area will receive nature’s face lift as spring’s arrival coaxes the greenery back to life.
