Over the weekend of December 10th, we discovered Van Ness looks good all decked out for the holidays.
Van Ness Main Street’s “Made in DC” pop-up market at 4340 Connecticut Avenue had caroling, visits from Santa and 25 local vendors. Some 2,400 shoppers bought more than $20,000 of merchandise. On Saturday, dogs and their people lined up to get their photos taken with Santa. This raised $1,200 for City Dogs Rescue.
And on Sunday, Santa sat with kids, and the Singing Capital Chorus invited everyone to sing along to their favorite carols.
Van Ness Main Street worked with UDC, which owns the space, to make this happen. Members of Van Ness Main Street Board and UDC were thrilled with the success of this event.
Did you miss the event? Or miss a chance to buy something cool from a vendor you saw there? You’ll find a full list of vendors and their web sites here.

Thanks to all who worked hard behind the scenes for months to organize this event, and thanks to the shoppers who made it a success! Kudos to UDC for making this space available as well. There is clearly pent-up demand in Van Ness for retail, and our Van Ness Main Street team hears you!
