DDOT has plans for the ten upper Connecticut Avenue crosswalks that lack traffic signals, and we’re invited to a public meeting on Thursday, May 21st, to learn more about those plans and give the agency our feedback.
DDOT says it’s responding to safety concerns, given that “fourteen pedestrians have been injured and one killed in un-signalized marked crosswalks on upper Connecticut Avenue in the last nine years.”

How will it affect the access to the subway for disbled, parents with children in carriages, ‘cripples with 10 speed bikes’, older students at UDC??
