Last Saturday morning was dreary. Rain looked imminent. But the kaleidoscope of colors at the New Morning Farm market at the Sheridan school dispelled the gloom.
From rainbow chard, red and white radishes, the contrasting orange and greens of the different squashes, and the reds of tomatoes and peppers, the eyes feasted on color while taste buds were on high alert for what was yet to come.
A personal recommendation: If you like tart apples, the Staymans are the best. I wait all year for them, and they made their appearance at the market Saturday. The season is very short, so grab some this Saturday. – Marlene Berlin
