By the way, the National Arboretum (3501 New York Avenue Northeast) is open on Thanksgiving. Another of Cohen’s favorite parks in the District, Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, is not open on this day, but it’s another beautiful spot to visit during the rest of the long holiday weekend.
