Photos: Fawns of Forest Hills

August 7, 2015 by FHC

David Cohen found this doe and two fawns grazing in his yard recently.

When I stepped onto our back porch, they went into an alert. I was able to take several photos before they ran off. Our house adjoins parkland. Even so, I marvel that these deer posed for me inside the District of Columbia. There’s a reason our neighborhood is named Forest Hills!

Cohen has a knack for capturing the wildlife in his yard – with his camera. This owl posed for him last spring.

Our family thinks those beautiful creatures look more fawn-like than faun-like. Thank you David for photographing and sharing.

Good catch, Dave! The editors need an editor. Or we can pretend it’s a typo…

David, thanks for your correction. The error is all mine. It reminds me of the tee shirt my son Steven gave me: “Homonyms are a reel waist of thyme.”
