Ward3Vision and the Coalition for Smarter Growth invite you to a panel discussion to learn more about accessory apartments, a term used to refer to English basements, granny flats, garage apartments, and backyard cottages.
In the recent rewrite of its zoning code, D.C. made it easier for homeowners to add an accessory living units to their property. ADUs can make owning your home more affordable, and can make aging in place easier. On Oct. 11, meet with experts in the ADU process to understand how the design, permitting, and construction needs for an accessory apartment. We’ll cover basic zoning and permitting issues, with time for questions, so you can better understand if an accessory apartment would work for you.
Homeowners considering building an accessory or basement apartment, the professionals who help make it happen — architects, builders, realtors, lenders — and anyone else interested in ADUs in D.C. should plan to attend.
This event is co-sponsored by Ward3Vision and the Coalition for Smarter Growth.
