Aging and Memory Talk and Screenings

November 4, 2012 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

November is Memory Matters Month at Iona Senior Services.

Scott Turner, M.D., Director of the Memory Disorders Clinic at the Georgetown University Medical Center will come to Iona to discuss Current Research on Maintaining Memory as We Age on Sunday, November 4 at 2:00 pm. Dr. Turner will lead a discussion on current research on memory, the aging process, and new understandings about maintaining memory in older age. He will also discuss state-of-the-art treatment for Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, and highlight ways to move vital research forward in the future.

Dr. Turner’s lecture and discussion will begin at 2 pm, but please come early or stay late for free, confidential memory screenings by a qualified Iona professional and glean information from a host of local providers who are experienced in helping people with memory loss. Iona staff will be on hand to answer questions about our services for older adults and caregivers including counseling, support groups, care management and our award-winning Wellness & Arts Center.

You’ll find more information about this and other events at www.iona.org/calendar/art-of-caring-luncheon.
