Veronika Dobi-Kiss is a Hungarian mezzo-soprano, graduated as a voice teacher in 1991. She was member of the professional Choir of the National Theatre of the city of Győr, between 1995-97, while pursuing a career as an opera singer. In 1996 she won third place at the JenőÁdám Singing Contest which earned her invitations to concerts in Italy. In the same year Ms. Dobi-Kiss completed her voice studies and became a soloist of the Basilica of the city of Győr. Since 1997, Ms. Dobi-Kiss is frequently invited to major opera roles as well as concerts in Hungary and throughout Europe. She extensively performs church music both in Hungary and abroad, including the Rudolfsheim church of Vienna, where she regularly performs as a soloist. Her repertory includes opera roles such as the Princess in Puccini’s Suor Angelica (National Opera of Szeged, Hungary, 2002) and Mercedes in Bizet’s Carmen (National Theatre of Győr, Hungary, 2012), Mozart Requiem, Pergolesi Stabat Mater, Bach Christmas Oratory, Vivaldi Gloria etc. She frequently performs as soloist with leading conductors and orchestras, such as the Symphonic Orchestra of Szeged andthe Symphonic Orchestra of Budapest. Her recitals include music by Brahms, Schumann and Wagner (Liebeslieder and Wesendonck Lieder). Program: Wagner, Saint-Saëns, Verdi, Gluck, Donizetti, Ponchielli, Bizet.
