The rain garden next to the outdoor amphitheater has been rendered almost completely ineffective by an invasive species takeover. Two Girl Scouts have volunteered to adopt it as their Silver Award project and they will be leading a two-day cleanup effort.
They and volunteers will be removing all overgrowth and invasive plants and replacing them with a variety of colorful, flowering native plants.
They are seeking volunteers for a September 21st weeding day and October 21st planting day. Older kids and teens are welcome. Students can earn SSL hours.
