Rock Creek Park Day/National Public Lands Day

September 28, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Join the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF), Rock Creek Conservancy and the National Park Service to celebrate National Public Lands Day at Rock Creek Park in Washington, DC. The event will focus on connecting people to public lands in their community, inspiring environmental stewardship, and encouraging the use of public lands for education, recreation, and general health.

During the event, volunteers will get the opportunity to participate in a wide range of stewardship activities, including invasive plant removal, trash cleanup, and native plantings.

This is an extra special day because we will also be celebrating Rock Creek Park Day, the anniversary of the creation of Rock Creek Park in 1890, making it the third-oldest national park.
