“Justice!” is the theme of the 2nd Annual UDC Firebird Film Festival beginning October 29 through November 4, 2018 at the University of the District of Columbia. This year’s line-up includes a remarkable collection of both fiction and documentary films, which tackle some of the most compelling human and civil rights concerns of our times. Each film will be accompanied by special guest introductions and post-screening discussions to explore the cultural, historical and social issues presented on the screen.

FILM SCHEDULE:

  • Monday, October 29th @ 5:00 p.m. – “Fruitvale Station”
  • Tuesday, October 30th @ 5:00 p.m. – “TIME: The Kalief Browder Story” (Ep. 1 and 3)
  • Wednesday, October 31st @ 5:00 p.m. – “TIME: The Kalief Browder Story” (Ep. 5 and 6)
  • Thursday, November 1st @ 5:00 p.m. – “Waiting Room”
  • Friday, November 2nd @ 5:00 p.m. – “Vice: Raised in the System” and “A Week in Watts”
  • Saturday, November 3rd @ 5:00 p.m. – “Unforgiven: How This Man in Florida Lost his Voting Rights” and “Selma”
  • Sunday, November 4th @ 5:00 p.m. – “Black Panther”
