Volunteer training at Peirce Mill

March 19, 2016 @ 9:30 am - 2:30 pm

VCome to a training session with the National Park Service to learn how to interpret Peirce Mill, Washington’s only working grist mill on Rock Creek, on Saturday, March 19th. Volunteers will meet other members, learn about post-colonial America as Washington County enters the industrial age, and get hands on training about the only remaining grist mill in Rock Creek Park.

Volunteers are needed to

  • staff the welcome center,
  • give tours of Peirce Mill,
  • assist with special events held at the mill throughout the year,
  • and help the miller.

This fun group of dedicated individuals is looking to expand the operations and outreach of this jewel in Rock Creek Park. To learn more, visit the Friends of Peirce Mill FaceBook page at www.facebook.com/FOPMDC http://www.facebook.com/FOPMDC.
