On Thursday, December 13, 2012, in accordance with Article III (A) 3 of the DC Democratic State Committee (DCDSC), the Ward 3 Democratic Committee shall hold an election to elect one (1) Ward 3 Committeeman and (2) Ward 3 Committeewomen to serve on the DC Democratic State Committee to fill (3) vacancies in these positions.

Individuals elected will complete the terms of these vacant positions and will serve on the DCDSC until such time as the DCDSC and/or the DC Board of Elections and Ethics can hold an election to elect new DCDSC members in 2013. The DCDSC is in the process of scheduling the election and it is anticipated that the election will be held as soon as practicable in 2013.

The election to fill the vacancies shall be held at the St. Columba’s Episcopal Church at 4201 Albemarle St. NW between the hours of 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. Interested candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered for placement on the ballot by the Ward 3 Democratic Committee.

—Must maintain a legal domicile/residence within Ward 3
—Must indicate whether male or female
—Must be registered in Ward 3 as a Democrat with the Office of the Board of Elections and Ethics (BOEE)
—Must complete a “Statement of Candidacy” which includes the candidate’s name, mailing address, telephone number, e-mail address and statement to affirm that he/she is registered in Ward 3
—Must submit the “Ward 3 Democratic Committee Statement of Candidacy” to Brian Lederer, Election Co-Chair not later than December 3, 2012.

If mailed, the statement must be postmarked not later than Friday, November 30, 2012 to Brian Lederer at 3003 Van Ness St. NW, Wash.
