Forest Hills Connection | News and Life in Our DC Neighborhood
Covering Forest Hills, Van Ness, North Cleveland Park and Wakefield
Participants will learn how to identify and control species of non-native, invasive plants found in the Washington, D.C. area including porcelainberry (Ampelopsis glandulosa), English ivy (Hedera helix), Burning bush (Euonymus alatus) among others. Early detection, rapid response plants, and native alternatives will also be discussed.
This two-part course will be divided as follows: a 2.5 hour classroom session on November 23rd at the Rock Creek Nature Center, followed by a 2.0 hour field session the same day.
