High-Rise Life: Greener Condos

June 17, 2013

by Barbara Cline

High-Rise Life 305Forest Hills condo owners who want their buildings to be greener should see what the Master-Metered Condo Alliance is doing.

Although this group is only for Maryland properties, DC condominium owners are invited to attend their meetings at Bethesda Green. I attended a meeting in January after finding Bethesda Green (BG) at a Green Expo last fall. BG gives administrative support to the Alliance.

Topics to-date include solar water heaters, green roofs, solar panels, composting, and group purchasing for renewable energy utilities.

The Alliance’s next meeting is Monday, July 1st, 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Bethesda Green office at 4825 Cordell Avenue, Bethesda. The topic is EVADC – the Electric Vehicle Association of Greater Washington, DC.
