The wildlife is a big part of life in Forest Hills. So is the domesticated kind.
Many friendships have been made while out walking pooches with names like Ty, Romeo, Emmy, Patrick, Max and Mia. And do you remember “Pupton” Street? Our Upton Street neighbors have really bonded over their dogs.
We met Patrick and his feline housemate Sophie earlier this year. Patrick was the chattier of the two. He later starred in a video for the World Parkinson Congress about what it’s like to live with a human who has the disease.
Emmy, our chief canine correspondent, threw a party for the neighbors and later hosted “Thanksgivukkah” with her humans.
The neighborhood cats do not deign to speak to us. But they make their presence and their affection for us known. Marlene Berlin wrote a sad farewell to her family’s tuxedo manx, Sylvester.
And Amy Rofman told us about pet fostering and introduced us to a cat named Enchantment who needed a forever home.
