2012 Flashback: Neighbors Worth Knowing, Part II

December 27, 2012 by Niki

Our neighbors spent the past year doing wonderful things, and they’ve shared their experiences with us.

  • Paul Pearlstein is a “river rat” in his spare time. He shares his love of rowing with people on the Anacostia.
  • Susan Crudgington is part of an organization that brings young Afghan women to the U.S. for education.
  • Some neighbors let us tag along on their travels.

  • Susan Crudgington took us fly fishing out West.
  • Mary Beth Ray had terrific guides during a trip to Malta: Two former Maltese ambassadors who once lived across the street from her.
  • Jan Buresh took her banking expertise to farmers in Ghana, and met some amazing people there.
  • Annette Aburdene took us hiking in the otherwordly Dolomites.
  • A couple of neighbors said goodbye.

  • Holly Hankins wrote about her 26-year love affair with Chesapeake Street.
  • Robin Schepper moved to Colorado and discovered that some of her new neighbors are getting a little too close for comfort. Robin was instrumental in getting more sidewalks built in Forest Hills. She urged us get out and use them.
