A dinner date with Forest Hills artists, March 30th

March 16, 2015

On Monday, March 30th, let’s shake off the last of the winter doldrums together. Join your neighbors and neighborhood artists for an evening of food, drink and fun at a fundraiser for Forest Hills Connection at the Acacia Bistro and Wine Bar (4340 Connecticut Avenue).

Acacia Bistro

Between 6 and 10 p.m., you can meet local artists and photographers and bid on their donated works, studio tours, a house tour, and a photo tour of the cherry blossoms to be auctioned off on behalf of the Connection that evening.

And Uzi Turker, the owner of Acacia, will give our publication a portion of the food and drink sales. We suggest making a reservation – and mention Forest Hills Connection when you do. Call 537-1040 or reserve a table at AcaciaBistro.com. Come try the new menu with more gluten-free, vegetarian and kids’ options.

The money raised supports our web site’s operations and the monthly e-mail newsletter. (Subscribe to the newsletter here, and read more about our funding needs.)

The artists and photographers will be dropping in throughout the evening, so there will be greeters at the door to make introductions. The artists participating so far include:

  • Deborah Lacroix
  • David Luria

  • Rose Mosner
  • Setsuko Ono
  • Annette Polan
  • Beverly Rezneck
  • Robin Rose

  • We will publish a list of donated items in Forest Hills Connection on Friday, March 27th. Don’t miss this notice: Follow us on Facebook, Twitter or sign up for the site’s RSS feed.

Also, the author writing a serial mystery set in 1940s Forest Hills will be making an appearance. Anthony Dobranski will be available to answer questions about the mystery. The series will make its debut in Forest Hills Connection in April.

So please, come celebrate on the 30th with Marlene Berlin and Tracy Johnke, partners in giving you the Forest Hills Connection. If have any questions or would like to participate in this event as an artist, please contact Marlene Berlin at [email protected].
