A Night at the (Amphi)theater

July 25, 2014 by FHC

Tonight’s the last musical master class of a two-week series at UDC’s outdoor amphitheater, located just to the west of the UDC tennis courts between Windom and Yuma.

This session will feature jazz vocalist Lori Williams. Get there by 6 p.m. to catch the jam session with students and professional musicians, a program put together by the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington.

Tuesday’s event, with violinist Solomia Gorokhivska and concert flutist Andrei Pidkivka, was a real treat.

And after the music, a great cookout at Acacia, which made a perfect evening of music and food at Van Ness. – Marlene Berlin

It was a treat, indeed. As was Thursday’s jazz class with Integriti Reeves.

However Wednesday’s Master Class by Denyse Graves and three students at three levels (one now at Ellington H.S., one at Peabody Conservatory, and one awarded a Masters degree by Peabody) was spectacular! Absolutely spectacular.

What a nice treat, calming of the soul both man and beast!
