ANC 3F May 19 virtual meeting agenda: A new restaurant at the former Terasol; Van Ness Main Street funding

May 14, 2020

But first, a quick update on the newest ANC 3F commissioner. The April 21st meeting was ANC 3F’s first ever conducted entirely online, and participants witnessed the first-ever virtual ANC swearing-in ceremony. Ward 3 Council member Mary Cheh did the honors, and David Cristeal officially joined the commmission as the representative for 3F01. He is also bringing his extensive city planning experience with housing and homeless programs to the ANC’s Housing Committee.

The first virtual swearing-in of a #Ward3 ANC Commissioner went smoothly!

His challenger in the race, Erica Rosenberg, is joining ANC 3F’s Parks and Trails Committee as the chair.

Second: Which streets and sidewalks need DDOT’s help with social distancing? Mayor Bowser is asking people to send their comments through their local ANCs. So if you live or work within ANC 3F boundaries and have some ideas, drop them a line. Or, fill out our questionnaire. The results are being shared with commissioners and the ANC 3F Streets and Sidewalks Committee.

Now, on to the May 19th draft agenda:

Is another French bistro moving into the former location of Terasol bistro at 5010 Connecticut Avenue? Representatives for a new eatery called Rosemary will present on its application for a liquor license during the meeting. Van Ness Main Street tells us it’s from the people behind Petit Plats in Woodley Park.

According to the ABRA public hearing notice (page 12), the restaurant is to seat 60 inside and 15 outside.

They have already constructed a patio at 5010 Connecticut Avenue.

So far, the only other agenda item of note is the Van Ness Main Street funding resolution. We have asked ANC 3F for more information.

Here’s the meeting notice from ANC 3F, with instructions on connecting via WebEx:
