ANC meetings are information-packed monthly check-ins with your neighborhood. And ANC 3F jammed so much into its April 22nd meeting, we’re still working on getting the news out.
Here’s your chance to get ahead of us:
If you missed the two articles we did publish about news from the meeting: The volunteer-run food pantry NW Community Food will stay in Van Ness. And, DC Water is getting ready to make a lot of noise at the Albemarle Street sewer project site.
While we put the finishing touches on the April recap, check out the the May 20th ANC 3F agenda below. Notable items include Canna Art’s request for a medical cannabis dispensary license, and a resolution requesting that DDOT study making Alton Place one-way between 36th Street and Reno Road.

Just a comment about Davenport St where I live. The traffic is very heavy with commuters who NEVER stop at stop signs and speed. We could use a camera on 30th and Davenport like at Fessenden and 44th. Also periodic police speed stops. And why isn’t Rock Creek Parkway open north of broad branch.
It’s so dangerous to have this level of speed traffic in a residential neighborhood.

Yes, I agree. When I walk I have to be especially careful not to get run over at that intersection!

You ask a very good question regarding the closure of Beach drive. When Beach Drive was permanently closed to traffic (north of the intersection with Broad Branch Rd), traffic naturally sought other routes to take. While it removed the traffic burden from the closed Beach Drive, that burden fell on other roads, including Davenport, Brandywine, Linnean and Broad Branch Roads.

Forest Hills Connection should think about the advantages and pleasures of printing a hyperlocal newspaper on paper like these interesting residents in Adams Morgan:

Oh, how fun. If you are volunteering to spearhead the effort, by all means!
