ANC 3F Sept. 17 agenda: MOM’s alcohol license, Albemarle Street closure

September 12, 2024 by FHC

For those craving signs that there’s movement toward the opening of the MOM’s Organic Market location in Van Ness, the next ANC 3F meeting might interest you. On Tuesday, September 17th, MOM’s will be seeking the commissioners’ support for its application for a stipulated beer and wine sales license.

This meeting is also for those who have questions about the closure of Albemarle Street to the east of Connecticut Avenue, and the work to be performed there. A community Q&A with DC Water is on the agenda (below).

Another agenda item we find interesting is the Linnean gully restoration project. The gully, which begins where Linnean Avenue dead-ends on the north side of the Soapstone Valley, underwent a stormwater control project in 2015 (here’s the background from 2014). The latest DC Department of Energy and Environment project will once again set out to reduce stormwater volume and erosion. Other project goals involve managing invasive vegetation and improving the habitat for life in the creek below.
