Meet your ANC candidates: Evelyn Chapin Quinn, 3F01

March 14, 2016

ANC 3F01

ANC 3F01

The vacant seat on ANC 3F won’t be vacant much longer. Registered voters within single member district 3F01 (check your SMD at ancfinder.org) will cast their ballots the evening of Tuesday, April 5th, 6:05-7:30 p.m. at Hearst Elementary.

Two candidates, Evelyn Chapin Quinn and David Dickinson, will appear on the ballot. We’ve invited them to tell us more about themselves. First up:

Dear Neighbors,

Evelyn Chapin Quinn

Evelyn Chapin Quinn

My name is Evelyn Chapin Quinn and I’m a candidate to represent the single member district 3F01 on our Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC). I’m running for this position because I love our neighborhood and want to be an agent for keeping and making 3F01 a delightful place to live, work, and play.

I am dedicated to understanding perspectives, mediating discussions, and facilitating creative problem solving among all stakeholders. I am committed to representing these perspectives and solutions to the to DC Government and to increasing awareness, understanding, and involvement among residents, businesses and schools of the issues as they arise.

Professionally, I am a brand and marketing strategist at RP3 Agency in Bethesda, where I work to develop digital and communication solutions to help private and non-profit clients achieve their goals. When I’m not working or trying to keep my 14-month-old out of trouble, you will likely find me running through the neighborhood, gardening (I’m learning), or enjoying meals and company on our front porch.

I’m focused on serving our neighborhood by:

  • Keeping our shared spaces accessible and inviting – allowing our multi-generational community to come together whether it’s to play at Hearst park or to shop at our farmer’s markets.
  • Supporting smart, thoughtful growth to ensure we can attract and maintain great retail and local entrepreneurs while preserving the character and green space that make our neighborhood special.
  • Proactively building on Adam Tope’s efforts to create a more open, transparent, and accessible local government.

I believe local government works best when its residents are involved, so I hope to see you out to vote on Tuesday, April 5th at Hearst Elementary from 6-7 p.m.

I will be at the Hearst playground, Saturday, March 19th from 11-12 p.m. and would love an opportunity to meet more neighbors.

Sincerely,
Evelyn
