April 3 meeting on latest options for modernizing the Rock Creek Nature Center

March 25, 2019 by FHC

The National Park Service at Rock Creek is still considering its options for a renovation and modernization at the complex including the Nature Center at 5200 Glover Road NW and the Horse Center nearby. When we last heard from NPS about this project in late 2017, a public comment period on three alternatives was under way.

Now that the environmental assessment is complete, the public has the opportunity to weigh in again. The page where you can leave an online comment as well as documents containing more information about the alternatives and the environmental impact are linked here. Questions?NPS is hosting a community meeting on Wednesday, April 3 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Nature Center. Details below:

Learn about the plan to improve Rock Creek Park’s Nature Center Complex

Where: Rock Creek Park Nature Center and Planetarium, 5200 Glover Road NW, Washington, D.C. 20015

Join National Park Service staff to learn about alternatives from the design concept plan for the Nature Center complex. The complex includes the Nature Center and Planetarium, Horse Center, maintenance area, picnic areas 13 and 14, and a network of pedestrian pathways and trails in the area.
