Brandywine Street potholes have been filled… Is your street next?

March 23, 2015

by Marlene Berlin

ANC 3F Commissioner Sally Gresham has been on a tear, working to draw various DC agencies’ attention to problems on Brandywine Street between Connecticut Avenue and 31st Street. Among the problems that need to be addressed have been potholes, poor drainage, bank erosion, curb ramps and general neglect of the sidewalk on the north side.

Gresham can now cross one item off her list. The potholes were filled in on Saturday. She took this photo of the crew at work.

“But what about the potholes on my street?” you ask. You can report them to DDOT by calling 3-1-1 or by visiting 311.dc.gov. And this week, DDOT is launching its seventh annual “Potholepalooza.” This is a month-long effort to accelerate its response to our pothole reports. Once Potholepalooza gets under way, DDOT is promising to send a crew to a fill pothole within 48 hours of receiving a report.

Albemarle between Conn. Ave and Wisconsin. has been a disaster area all winter with potholes. Hope they get these filled soon.

Amen to that. That stretch has more craters than the moon.

Thank God for someone like Sally Gresham. She marshalled the forces that needed to be brought together, and even tho this is just a start, it is SO welcome! Thank you, Sally!
