Bread Furst’s breakfast grab-and-go table is no more. After three weeks, Mark Furstenberg has decided to throw in the towel.
He explains:
[box]”If the sales had been increasing even a little over the three weeks, I would continue this effort. But they haven’t been increasing. They have stayed the same, about $90 a day. I don’t know why.”[/box]
My first thought was that perhaps it was because Bread Furst put out the same items each day, and people needed more variety.
But then I read on. Out of the hundreds who walk by Bread Furst every morning, only 50 or so people even bothered to stop to browse the offerings on any given day, and only about half of those browsers made a purchase.
I’m going to miss Break Furst (and its banh mi). Thanks, Mark, for giving it a shot. – Tracy the webmaster
