Tesoro Trattoria & Pizzeria is no more. A sharp-eyed Popville reader spotted a sign on the door stating that “The restaurant is no longer in business.”
Tesoro Trattoria had its struggles. Angela and Enrico De Rosa, a brother and sister team, purchased the restaurant in 2019, and within a few months the pandemic shut down indoor dining. But as as recently as June, business seemed to be picking up. Tesoro was celebrating busy weekends in its social media posts. Enrico De Rosa told us at the time that he was grateful to the restaurants’ neighbors and regulars for keeping them going.
Tesoro continued to express those sentiments in July, and as August began.
The Subway restaurant at 4401 Connecticut Avenue has also closed, but according to Yelp the closure is temporary. The location is to reopen on September 25th.

The show(s) must go on
Comet Ping Pong (5037 Connecticut) put on spring and summer outdoor concert series that sold out almost as soon as the shows were announced. This fall, the performances are moving back indoors.
Comet Ping Pong is requiring audience members to provide either proof of vaccination or a negative Covid-19 test taken within the previous 48 hours. And masks must be worn, except while drinking a beverage.
