Forest Hills Connection moderates all comments, and over the years, we’ve developed some guidelines for what makes it in, and what doesn’t. And after almost eleven years, it’s long past time we shared them with you.
In short: no personal attacks, no criticisms based on identity (age, gender, race, religion, just to name a few), and no unverifiable facts and figures. We also try to avoid publishing comments that are off-topic. (If you have a burning question or comment about something that we haven’t covered recently, contact us at [email protected]. It might be a great news tip!)
If we determine any part of a comment is in breach of any of these guidelines, the commenter will be invited to rewrite and resubmit it.
Some of the topics we cover at Forest Hills Connection will get people a little hot under the collar. And we expect critiques of our reporting, opinion pieces, and comments posted by your fellow readers. But please make sure it’s the idea you are criticizing, not the person. We ask that everyone be respectful, and be neighborly.
We have also updated our guidelines for submitting articles, including opinion pieces. The people of this neighborhood have some great stories to tell. Perhaps one of them is you!
