CommuniKids’ 3rd NW DC language immersion preschool will welcome 18 months to pre-K4 (Sponsored)

CommuniKids was the first school to offer a free pre-K3 education in Ward 3. It was also the second, and now, the third. It is opening a new early childhood education center at Cathedral Commons.

This center, located at 3400 Idaho Avenue NW, will join its Tenleytown and UDC/Van Ness centers in offering Spanish-language immersion pre-K services for three- and four-year-olds free of charge to DC residents through the DC Pre-K Enhancement and Expansion Program.

Language immersion for the toddler set, too

The CommuniKids Cathedral Commons location will also be its first DC location to offer its award-winning language immersion program to children starting at 18 months of age.

“By starting the language immersion experience a year earlier, children will be able to increase the time of exposure to a second language,” says CommuniKids marketing director Mindi Susskind. “Research has linked increased time of exposure to improved second language fluency.”

In addition to Spanish-language immersion, the centers also offers weekly language classes in French and Mandarin. A fourth location is a language immersion preschool in Falls Church that offers Mandarin, Spanish or French.

CommuniKids is currently accepting applications for the 2020-2021 school year for all three centers. Please note that DC residents who enroll in its toddler classes will be guaranteed a spot in the center’s free pre-K3 and pre-K4 classes for subsequent school years. Those interested are encouraged to apply early as CommuniKids expects demand to be very high at its new location.

CommuniKids will be constructing the new space over the next several months, so tours will be offered starting in the spring of 2020. Please direct all questions to admissions@communikids.com.
