One Saturday in November, a few dozen volunteers planted 3,000 daffodil bulbs at Van Ness. Now, we’re starting to see the fruits – or rather the shoots – of their labors.
As Mary Beth Ray wrote about November’s planting day, “Daffodils for Dad” was initiated by UDC Master Gardener Coordinator Sandy Farber Bandier, and honors her late father, Ted Farber, a gardening enthusiast. The Farber Bandier family donates 3,000 bulbs every year to a different ward in DC.
Now we’ll be reminded of him every spring, when the daffodils sprout and bloom.
