DC doesn’t play games with suspicious packages

July 30, 2014

Here’s hoping your afternoon commute is better than your morning travels. This is what greeted everyone trying to get to and through the Van Ness Metro area for about an hour this morning.

Martin Austermuhle had a good vantage point on the situation. He’s directly across the street at his job: A reporter for WAMU.

The Van Ness Metro station and the 4200 block of Connecticut reopened at around 9:30 a.m.
