DC Water is starting a second water main replacement project in Forest Hills

The DC Water water main replacement project now under way in Forest Hills isn’t the only one in the District. In a couple of weeks, it won’t even be the only project in the neighborhood.

In mid-February, DC Water plans to begin replacing the 12-inch and smaller cast iron water mains on part of Upton Street, Lenore Lane and a section of Linnean Avenue.

This project has a smaller area to cover. DC Water will be replacing 3,500 linear feet of pipe as well as fire hydrants. Service lines will also be replaced if needed. The agency is projecting an August completion date.

The water main project to the north is replacing 12,240 linear feet of water mains. Its projected completion date is March 2022.
