DC’s ‘AlleyPalooza’ tackles Bread Furst alley

July 29, 2015

Mayor Bowser launched DC’s first “AlleyPalooza” this month. Like the annual “PotholePalooza,” DDOT’s eight-week repaving effort targets 64 alleys throughout the District. And that includes the alley behind Bread Furst and the Day’s Inn.

Workers tore up the existing concrete at the alley's entrance at Albemarle Street.

Work began yesterday morning around 7:30. By 6:30 p.m., the crew had poured new concrete and was working on completing the entrance at Albemarle when a cloudburst struck.

Eight alleys in each of DC’s eight wards were chosen for this year’s AlleyPalooza. Residents will be invited to submit their nominations for another round of improvements next summer.
