Ducklings Still Paddling in Broad Branch Stream

July 4, 2014 by Patricia

by Marlene Berlin

I have gotten reports from folks that they have not been able to find the ducklings in Broad Branch stream. They are there. I was out on Monday morning at around 8:30 a.m. and they were swimming around with Mama Duck and looking a lot bigger.

I talked to Roberto, who is part of the construction crew at Broad Branch Stream and was watering all the new plantings. He told me that he had seen them soon after they had hatched. There had been 12. Earlier this week it looked like the family was down to seven.

Try searching for them in the early morning or evening, which is when I have spotted them.
