Enormous downed tree removed at last from 3101 Albemarle grounds

The new owner of 3101 Albemarle Street says he wants to protect the mature trees on the property. He has already removed one, however.

This giant was felled by a May 2016 storm.

The tree’s been down since May 2016.

It’s so large that though it was set far back from the street, it took out a fence and damaged three cars parked on Albemarle.

After the ANC 3F meeting at which he announced his plans for the property, PG Gottfried discussed the fallen tree with Bartlett Trees arborist Bill Eck.

Removal began Monday…

…And continued into Tuesday.
