One of Forest Hills Connection’s goals is to record a living history of the neighborhood and its residents. For this work, the Forest Hills Connection was recognized in June as a DC Community Heritage Project and awarded a $2,000 grant.
The Connection and other 2012 grant winners will be part of the 6th annual DC Community Heritage Project (DCCHP) Showcase on Thursday, December 6th, 2012, from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Marlene Berlin was interviewed on film about this project and will be part of a documentary on all 2012 grantees shown at this event. Featured speakers will be Lionel Thomas, director of the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities and David Maloney, director of the DC Historic Preservation Office. The program will close with a question-and-answer session with grantees.
We invite you to attend this event at All Souls Unitarian Church at 1500 Harvard Street, NW. For more information go to http://www.wdchumanities.org/event-list/details/145-2012DCCHPShow.
