Forest Hills Playground’s Picnic in the Park concert is June 23

June 15, 2018 by FHC

An update from Friends of Forest Hills Playground:

Friends of Forest Hills Playground + The Erich Cabe Team present: Crush Funk Brass!

Forest Hills Park’s Picnic in the Park summer concert series begins on Saturday, June 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. (at 32nd and Chesapeake Streets, by the tennis courts).

If you’ve seen the band perform their brand of jazz, R&B and funk at events in Van Ness, Tenleytown and around the District, you know you’re in for a treat. And if you haven’t – you’re in for a treat.

Get there around 5 p.m. to grab the perfect picnic spot. The music starts at 5:30 p.m., and the show will wrap up by 7:00.

This event is BYOP – Bring Your Own Picnic. We’ll have food sales at the July and August summer concerts, but this time, we hope you will pick up the perfect picnic at local businesses.

This event is sponsored by the Erich Cabe Realtor Team. Erich Cabe and his team also donated coffee, water and time to our Earth Day weekend playground cleanup in April.

Keep an eye on our Facebook page for weather alerts and other updates.

We need volunteers!

Can you:

  • Distribute posters ahead of the show?
  • Spend a few minutes helping with setup, cleanup and other brief tasks on the day of?
  • Help plan and promote upcoming concerts and events (July 28, August 25, Halloween)?
  •
One reason we are trying Saturday concerts this year is we need more hands to put on these community events! Even 30 minutes would make an enormous difference. Please email [email protected].
