Forest Hills week ahead: Park Van Ness meeting; DC AG on consumer protections for seniors

Tuesday, April 7th

Park Van Ness project update, 6:30-8:30 p.m.: Representatives from DDOT and developer Saul Centers will take your questions about the 4455 Connecticut Avenue construction project at Forest Hills of DC Senior Living (4901 Connecticut Avenue).

Wednesday, April 8th

Pepco-Exelon merger, 7-10 p.m.: UDC’s Clarke School of Law Environmental Law Society is hosting a panel discussion on the Exelon-Pepco merger featuring DC Council member Mary Cheh as one of the panelists. For more information and to register, visit law.udc.edu/event/Exelon.

Wednesday, April 8th

Seniors and fraud protection, 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.: DC Attorney General Karl Racine will be at Sunrise at Connecticut (5111 Connecticut Avenue) to kick off the Office of the Attorney General’s new consumer protection efforts. He’ll be talking to seniors about ways to protect themselves from charity and sweepstakes scams, their rights against debt collectors, how to prevent identity theft, and more.

Friday, April 10th

Urban water management symposium, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.: The UDC Water Resources Research Institute is co-hosting the 2015 National Capital Region Water Resources Symposium. The theme is “Urban Water Management and Resilience in Uncertain Times.” Council member Cheh is a featured speaker at this day-long event at the Clarke School of Law (4340 Connecticut).
