There was no ribbon cutting. No fanfare. Not even an official, celebratory announcement (that we could find). But over Memorial Day weekend, as DPR’s outdoor swimming pools opened for the summer, the new Hearst Pool was among them.

Apparently a lot of people had the same idea as me to try out Ward 3’s first pool! … Planning to swim some laps for the first time in a while.. I’ve had several coworkers ask if I’ve been swimming 😅🏊🏼♀️@DCDPR pic.twitter.com/t4oYxf3xDd

The pool at 3701 37th Street NW is the first outdoor DPR pool in Ward 3. Like the others, Hearst Pool is open on Saturdays and Sundays only, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., through June 26th. From June 27th on, the pool is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from noon to 8 p.m., and weekends from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Hearst Pool is closed on Thursdays.
Have you tried out the pool? What did you think?

Do you have to be a member? At a public pool? Haven’t heard of that before.
FHC says
Only if you are not a DC resident. https://walkinrecreationdpr.splashthat.com/
