Casey Trees, the DC nonprofit that works to build and maintain the District’s tree canopy, watered more than 24,000 trees this summer. It’s getting ready to plant 1,600 trees this fall. And because of the pandemic, it’s had to do it all without the hands-on help of volunteers.
Casey Trees has kept its staff of tree-planting pros busy, and it’s looking for people to lead them. The organization announced in its September 8th newsletter that it is hiring for two positions: an urban forester who will manage tree planting operations, and and an urban forester crew chief who will lead day-to-day tree planting and tree care operations.
People who’d normally be rolling up their sleeves for Casey’s community tree planting events can still help by making a donation, becoming a member, or buying its merch.
