The message below is from Van Ness Main Street’s Good Clean Fun Initiative, which is looking out for Forest Hills Park and Playground.
GCF volunteers have also devoted time to getting the District’s advice and assistance on cleaning up the overgrown area between the baseball field and Brandywine Street, which has becoming a dumping ground for trash, plus invasive weeds often encroach on the sidewalk. In late May, they reported some progress: The removal of five dead trees and one invasive white mulberry.
That still leaves plenty of cleanup work in the rest of the park. Details of the next cleanup are below.
Coffee, Community, and Cleanup This Saturday, July 12!
Meet neighbors and have fun while beautifying Forest Hills Park and the 3100 block of Brandywine Street. Join us for refreshments and social time at 9:30 a.m., cleanup starts at 10:00 a.m.
Bags and gloves provided. Kids with their parents or guardians are welcome!
