Kuwait Embassy To Share Expansion Plans at ANC

January 7, 2013

Below is the draft agenda for the ANC 3F meeting on January 14, 2013, at 7 p.m. The agenda includes a number of exciting items such as the expansion of the Kuwait Embassy on Tilden Street, renovations at Hearst Elementary School, an update on AU’s renovations of 4401 Connecticut Avenue, and more. The agenda is subject to change. Please check the ANC 3F website for updates (http://www.anc3f.us). Note that the January meeting will start at 7 p.m. to handle officers elections and the public forum. Other business will start around 7:30 p.m.

Also please note that ANC 3F has a new location for its meetings. Meetings will now be held at the Methodist Home,4901 Connecticut Avenue NW.

On or about 7:30 PM:

Police Report: Introduction of Lt. Patricia Roman, PSA 203¹s new Lieutenant

Presentation by the Kuwaiti Embassy regarding their plans to expand their
building to add a chancery on the 2900 block of Tilden Street.

Short presentation and update on American University’s renovations of 4401
Connecticut Ave. NW (WAMU Building).

Discussion and resolution regarding historic-related aspects of the
renovation of Hearst Elementary School before the Historic Preservation
Review Board.

Discussion and resolution regarding the Application of Mid-Cities LLC,
pursuant to 11 DCMR 3104.1, for a special exception for the continued
operation of an accessory parking lot under section 214, in the R-1-B
District at premises rear of 4434 Connecticut Avenue, N.W.

Discussion to send a letter to the Calvin Cafritz Companies to request that
they consider adding Capital Bikeshare, car sharing, green building
features, outdoor bike racks and first-floor retail to their proposed
development of 5333 Connecticut Ave. NW.

Discussion and resolution regarding the application for curb cuts on Broad
Branch Road.

Discussion of request for new Capital Bikeshare stations within ANC 3F
boundaries.

Second reading and vote to change the by-laws to conform to the changes in
the ANC boundaries due to redistricting.
