Mark Furstenberg’s Lucky (For Us) Career Change

February 4, 2014 by FHC

The mid-life crisis is so cliché. The mid-life career change is where it’s at. Neighbor David Luria didn’t start out as an architectural photographer, and Mark Furstenberg didn’t start out as a baker.

In an interview with Rebecca Sheir of WAMU’s “Metro Connection,” Mark Furstenburg tells about how he got into baking in his 50s.

We in Forest Hills are lucky that he did – he opened his first bakery where Little Red Fox now stands. And work is under way on his newest venture: Bread Furst. Our next hope is that his new bakery’s opening meets Furstenberg’s new target date: April.
