January 2nd was the first day in office for several elected DC officials, including advisory neighborhood commissioners. You can see Ward 3 Council member Matt Frumin in the background of the photo above, conducting the swearing-in ceremony for Ward 3’s newly elected ANCs.
Frumin published the photo, and his congratulations, in his constituent newsletter later that day.
About the ANCs, and new and returning colleagues on the DC Council, Frumin wrote: “Public service can be a lot of work, but also enormously gratifying. At the swearing in ceremonies, a Convention Center hall is packed with talented, passionate people hoping to make a positive difference for their communities. It is a great way to start the new year.”
He goes on to give a “special shout out:”
[T]o our unsalaried, and too-often uncelebrated, ANC commissioners. I served on my local ANC for over six years, and know the time and energy it takes to do the job. As a recent op-ed article noted, “ANC commissioners are the backbone of local self-government,” and I couldn’t agree more. My gratitude goes to all those ANC commissioners in Ward 3 and across DC for your service to your community.
We were able to spot at least four of the six ANC 3F commissioners in Frumin’s photo.
And these are the faces you’ll be seeing at their Zoom meetings for the next two years:

On the left: Amy Rofman of 3F01, Sue Guzman of 3F02, and Mitch Baer of 3F03.
On the right: Claudette David of 3F04, Adrian Iglesias of 3F05, and Courtney Carlson of 3F06
The next ANC 3F meeting is on Tuesday, January 14th at 7 p.m.

Finally, I see who got elected since our ANC was a write in only. I kept checking the DC Elections web site and there weren’t any results posted. Congratulations to Amy Rofman!
