In the November 3rd election, there are eight candidates for ANC 3F’s seven single member districts.
Depending on where you live, you’ll see at least one of their names on your ballot. And we’d like to help you get to know them better.

We’ve published the statements from Alexandria Appah in 3F02, Dipa Mehta in 3F03 and Stan Wall in 3F04.
Next up: The candidates for ANC 3F’s only contested race – Claudette David and Ryan Keefe of 3F05.
ANC 3F05 includes multi-family and single-family homes, Forest Hills of DC senior living, and Politics and Prose and other businesses on the east side of the 5000 Connecticut Avenue block.
My name is Claudette David and I am running as Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner for single member district 3F05.
I am running to help continue to create a strong community through building a bridge between the community and local government. I will encourage more accessibility and engagement between myself as an advisory neighborhood commissioner and you – through frequent communications using various platforms. I would also like to create more opportunities for community feedback.
The socio-economic impact of COVID-19 has yet to be seen. I support expansion of affordable housing, convenient transportation options that include more frequent bus routes, expansion of bike lanes, support for the business community. I would like to hear from you on the issues that matter most to you at [email protected].
I was born in Washington, DC and have been a homeowner in Wakefield since 2013. I am currently the Executive Director of the DC Democratic Party.
Claudette David’s campaign website is claudetteforanc.com.
My name is Ryan Keefe, I’m running for the ANC 3F05 seat.
I am a DC native and have been a Forest Hills resident for more than 20 years. I’ve been involved in local politics throughout the District and elsewhere primarily as a transportation and housing advocate. I am currently a member of Ward3Vision and Ward 3 Bike Advocates steering committees.
Although ANCs have no formal legislative powers, they are conduits for your concerns and a powerful avenue to voice neighborhood concerns and accountability for District agencies. I hope to use this position to address resident concerns, more formally push safety improvements to our transportation infrastructure, particularly on Connecticut Ave, push for the completion of a fully accessible sidewalk network throughout the neighborhood.
As a commissioner, I will also strive to encourage a more welcoming neighborhood through the promotion of local businesses and a broader range of housing options. This includes advocating for additional Affordable Housing within ANC 3F where, according to the Office of Planning, only 26 housing units out of approximately 6,500 within ANC 3F’s boundaries are income restricted. These additional houses can help meet our affordability goals and promote more inclusivity and diversity in our wonderful neighborhood.
I hope to be able to use the knowledge and relationships with other ANCs in Ward 3 I’ve gained through advocacy to help accomplish these larger goals and promote more effective solutions to the problems that many in 3F05 and elsewhere face. I can be reached at [email protected].
Tomorrow: Matt Buechner for 3F07.

First I am a big fan of Andrea Molod and am sad she isn’t running again. With Andrea leaving I think Claudette will bring a unique and new perspective to the ANC. She is a home owner with a community aspect mind set. She is open to hearing from the community and will represent the single member district well.

I have had the opportunity to work on a community project with Claudette this year, and she delivered with valuable insights and lots of enthusiasm. She is a true diplomat, and I am excited to work with her more in the future!
